13 Questions you should know the answers before you apply to a Medical School

Q-1. How much will my Medical Education cost me at the end of
the day ?

Cost of Medical Education is not the only issue but what services are provided in the cost that
is affordable to the student. At Windsor student will not accumulate any substantial loans
especially high interests.

Q-2. How much extra do I have to spend on housing, books,
USMLE Review course, local transportation during the
course of study?

Dormitories and housing are included in Windsor tuition fees and student only has to pay
a maintenance fees that is for cleaning dorms, real estate local fees that is very minimal
when compared to high rents to live in St. Kitts. Student does not have to worry about yearly
leases, credit checks. Insurances and any other things that are generally required if a student
has to live in apartments or house.

Windsor provides local transportation at no extra cost and is included in the tuition fees. Student does not have to worry about car payments, insurance and other deposits

Windsor provides USMLE review course in addition to medical schooling right from the beginning that is 2 nd semester onwards in the evenings as Windsor believes in preparing the student right from the beginning and not wait till the end. After the 4th semester student will be sent for LIVING AND LEARNING CONCEPT to United States where student lives on site and prepares for the exam in full 16 weeks special review course. This Special USMLE course is at no additional cost and is included in the tuition fees.

Q-3. What happens if School does not provide Housing? who signs a lease ? which landlord rents to student? What are the guarantees?

Food is very expensive in Caribbean countries. Student also has to prepare the food which is time consuming and is a hindrance in studies. At Windsor students gets free lunch while on campus during regular business days and helps the student by preventing him to go to dorms by walk, prepare the food and eat. At Windsor cafeteria student does not pay for food during lunch and is included in the tuition fees.

Q-5. How does a student buy & carry heavy books? what about customs, excess baggage?

Q-7. If student takes USMLE boards after 2 years? when should he start preparing for exam, we start in 2nd semester, why?

Q-8. What happens when you fail a semester exam? do you repeat the entire semester, pay prorated tuition fee again, loose time by staying extra on island?

Many schools want the semester to be repeated with full semester fees or prorated fees. This will not only cost money to student but also time and expense to live in the island for the extra time. At Windsor we believe in second chance and does not charge any other fees except retake application fees and student does not waste anytime as the special curriculum and exam system is designed in such a way. If the student fails repeatedly student counseling, individual one on one training, teaching test taking skills, reviewing the failed subject on a personal basis, providing notes and practice tests are provided at a nominal cost.


Q-9. What happens if you fail USMLE first time, what problems will you have with school sponsorship? do you have extra conditions, extra fees?

Many schools kick the student out of the school if a student fails USMLE first or second time. We at Windsor provide additional teaching and special review courses and sponsor the USMLE exam.

Q-10. How many weeks rotations can you start & do before passing USMLE Step - I?

Many schools do not place the students in clinical hospital rotations if he or she fails USMLE step-1. We have special programs that allow students to rotate in clinical rotations while the student is preparing for the USMLE exams.

Q-11. What happens if you are kicked out of school for existing policies?

Windsor always gives a second chance to all students as their time, economics and life is taken into consideration. Windsor takes into consideration the time, money and efforts placed by the student while studying medicine and always believes in counseling and correcting the problem rather than dismissing the student. 


Q-12. Do i have continuous USMLE Step - I preparations through out, does the school do its own board review? if so what concept does the school use?

Windsor provides its own USMLE board review course right from the beginning of 2 nd semester and continues till the student passes the USMLE step-1 exam.


Q-13. What happens if the student graduates and passes USMLE exams and missed the residency matching for this year and has to wait for one year for the next resident matching?

At Windsor every student will have continuing medical education. Students can enroll in Postgraduate Diploma in Diagnosis and Therapeutic Internal Medicine for 15 months while he or she is waiting for the residency. Student will have a comprehensive clinical attachements in all departments of internal medicine as follows:
